Mychal Pham - Coach

Although Mychal was sold on the competitiveness and methodology of CrossFit, he was was most excited about sharing a complete fitness regiment that can help all types of people.  Leaving his P.E. Teacher job behind, he opened up a fitness gym called "Grudge" because he never wanted people to forget where they started from.

Adam Emralino - Coach

When Adam Emralino first heard about CrossFit he was a little bit skeptical, but once he tried it he fell in love immediately. Making the transition from a regular globo-gym to a CrossFit gym permanently was an easy decision for him.  He realized “constantly varied functional movements performed at a high intensity” was way more effective than the standard gym routine.  CrossFit has provided so much for Adam now he feels it’s his turn to pay it forward and help others.

Tait Nguyen - Coach

Tait shares a story like most people: Prior to CrossFit, he had trouble sticking to any type of workout program until he found Grudge Fitness. It was the programming, coaching, and constantly varied workouts that kept him interested.  Tait has since completed his internship for a Coaching role and is currently personal training oncoming clients helping them achieve their goals.  His super charming lumberjack smile and personable coaching approach helps new people learn how to CrossFit less intimidating. 

Cristina Guzman - Coach

NAFC Nutrition Coach (Pending)

Prior to completing her internship, Cristina was one of our longest tenured members at Grudge.  She has represented Grudge at numerous competitions as an individual and in teams.  Her highest achievement to date was placing second at the 2014 Bear Flag Revolt in the Advanced Women’s Division.  She was approached to join our Team largely due to her dedication to CrossFit and how she leads by example.  Cristina has completed our strenuous internship which requires numerous hours of shadowing other Coaches, and teaching the fundamentals to others on her own.

Michael Shioji - Coach

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

Originally from Hawaii, Michael completed his post high school education in the mainland and is now serving as a Doctor of Pharmacy at the Long Beach VA. Throughout his education, Michael began CrossFit years ago and never looked back. After finishing school and beginning his career in Southern California, Michael stumbled into Grudge Fitness and gelled right away with the GrudgeFit community. Coach Shioji's coaching style can be summarized as personable, attention to detail, and always bringing a smile to the gym. 


Ben Todd - Coach

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
BS Kinesiology - CSU Fullerton

A former baseball and soccer stud athlete, Coach Ben found his calling when he stepped foot into Grudge Fitness. Cherishing the ability to test his physical limits while working with (or against) others around him, he knew CrossFit was the way to go. The fitness philosophy and community aspect was a win-win situation, so becoming a Coach at Grudge Fitness was always tinkering in the back of his mind. After completing his bachelors degree at CSUF, he finally took the plunge and furthered his education by becoming CrossFit Level 1 certified. Currently Coach Ben leads Group Classes and coaches youth athletes in our Team Training program.
